Nutrient and additive delivery with a mineral tub is a convenient and time-saving practice.  However, when it comes to purchasing mineral tubs,  size does matter!  For large groups of livestock, the 200 and 250 lb. tubs work very well.  Many supplement brands have a 50 lb. tub available.  Still, there are times when a smaller, easier to move container with a handle would be a benefit.

Nelson Tubs is excited to offer our new, easier to handle  20 lb. flat back pail with a handle.  This size will be available for the equine, goat and multispecies products.  This pail will be more convenient to take to shows and use with small groups or individual animals.

For the Equine Owner

The Equine Pro in the 20 lb. pail will work well with horses that need an additional energy boost while performing at show events.  The strong handle will allow for hanging the product in stalls or on gates for improved ease of feeding.  Older horses or the easy keepers that may be on a limited grain diet will benefit from the additional minerals, vitamins and additives such as Biotin that can be delivered with using the pail.

Small Livestock Groups and Controlling Animal Movement

Many livestock owner have small herds, especially sheep and goat producers.  Many lifestyle or hobby farms or smaller cattle producers have herds of less than 20 head.  Often these operations can not utilize the large 200 or 250 lb. tubs due to size and money constraints.

On many of these operations, the pasture size may not always fit the number of animals.  Pastures that are too big are difficult to utilize well without additional internal fencing.  Using the small pail can help keep animals in a certain part of the field.  Animals will graze near the supplement, often only leaving the area for water.  After the area near the pail is well grazed, the pail can be moved to another part of the pasture.  The animals will follow the supplement.  In effect, you are rotational grazing without using fencing or physically pushing animals.

Nelson Tubs is pleased to bring the addition of the 20 lb. pail with handle to the product offering.  This container is easy to handle, economically priced, and fills a need for many equine, sheep and goat and show cattle customers.
